A few weeks ago, we kicked off a debate about “The No State Solution”, based on a conversation with Palestinian sociologist Mohammed Bamyeh and Israeli political scientist Uri Gordon. By the end, the place was still buzzing, and it was clear some of you weren’t ready to shuffle off just yet (and let’s be honest, neither were we). So we decided to come back for part two!
Just like last time, we used their chat as a starting point to dive into some of these questions: How can anarchist perspectives contribute to Palestinian liberation and the liberation of all oppressed peoples? Can we break free from state-centered politics in the context of anti-colonial resistance? And what about the flags? If you can, give the original chat a listen or a read beforehand. This conversation was facilitated by Coletivo pela Libertação da Palestina.
Apparently it’s possible to get tired of a war that we watch from our sofas in the relative comfort of our homes. The word Ukraine has sparked some strong debates, perhaps because our political circles are also permeable to Russian imperialist propaganda.
On the 9th of January, we had a conversation about why it is important to support the anarchist comrades fighting against the advance of the Russian imperial and colonial project in the trenches of Ukraine.
We also had an Ukrainian dinner and then showed the film “20 days in Mariupol”. All of the money raised went towards the anarchist and antifascist groups Solidarity Collectives and the Beauty Studio Trippin, who are either fighting or providing support to those fighting in the frontlines.
This podcast is the recording of the conversation that took place on this event.
Also, you might have heard that we’re now trying to collectively buy the spaces of Disgraca, in order to make sure we’re not evicted by the massive gentrification processes in Lisbon and to assure the long term sustainability of a whole bunch of collectives and movements. To do so, we need to raise 275k until the end of summer 2025, so every euro counts. Check gofundme.com/disgraca, liberapay.com/disgraca or go to disgraca.com if you want to donate today.
Welcome to Disgraça’s podcast, a collection of conversations held in our anarchist social center in Lisbon. Today, we’ll be listening to a talk from Sami Huraini about the daily resistance and the mutual aid initiatives of the people of Masafer Yatta, Palestine, resisting the zionist colonial project through direct action.

This discussion was organised by Coletivo Pela Libertação da Palestina as a part of Disgraça’s 9 year anniversary. It was based on the dialogue with the same name between Palestinian sociologist Mohammed Bamyeh and Israeli political scientist Uri Gordon that you can find here.
